Today, the final day of the LCWR assembly, the conference continued its work on the national discernment of the emerging future of religious life which seeks to assist religious institutes explore. LCWR 2022 | Global Sisters Report With roughly 200 women entering religious life in the U.S. every year, the officers highlighted the imperative for congregations to work across congregations and create new structures that can withstand the drop in numbers they'll be experiencing in the very near future. In June 2022, I attended the Twelfth Triennial Conference on the History of Women Religious, hosted at Notre Dame. There is a clear call to our generation of leaders to create new ways to organize the body of US women religious for mission and service. It's a powerful time of awareness that we are co-journeyers. But it must have been so difficult for Mary and the disciples on Good Friday to look ahead to Easter, to even imagine an Easter.
