I also bounced around to a couple other nearby rips and found terns over a school of bass that were chasing fish up and down the rip. However, there are still plenty of cool, well oxygenated areas in the Bay to pursue gamefish, including the main Bay from Tolchester north to the Susquehanna Flats, and the area from Gooses Reef south to the Virginia line. The same can be said for exploring Thomas Point and the rocks at Poplar Island; the morning hours offer the best opportunities for those casting soft plastic jigs, paddletails, or topwater lures. While I pulled one of the blues boat side, I noticed it spit up a full adult bunker. I found a couple small fish on the two nights I got out, but nothing over 25 inches.
